B | 「大阪マラソン」（２２日、大阪府庁前～大阪城公園） 男子は、２０２４年大会を当時の初マラソン日本最高記録で制した平林清澄（２３）＝ロジスティード＝が２時間６分１４秒で日本人トップの５位となり、２０２８年ロサンゼルス五輪の代表選考会「グランドチャンピオンシップ（ＭＧＣ）」（２７年１０月）の出場権を獲得した。イブラヒム・ハッサン（ジブチ）が２時間５分２０秒の大会新記録で優勝。２時間６分１８秒で６位に入った山下一貴（三菱重工）ら５人がＭＧＣ切符を手にした。女子は川村楓（岩谷産業）が２時間２５分５５秒で日本勢最高の６位に入り、ＭＧＣ出場を決めた。 初マラソンの吉田響は大失速して３４位に終わった。３０キロ過ぎまで独走も、終盤にペースを落とし、脱水症状などによりフィニッシュ後は車椅子で救護室に搬送された。Ｘに「悔しい形になってしまいましたが、自分にとっては最高の大阪マラソンになりました」などとつづった。顔を含めて体中に貼られた黒い丸テープも注目を集め、所属するサンベルクスの田中総監督は「神経とか筋肉の動きに柔軟性を出すため」と説明した。
